Lea M. Johnson is a fundraising strategist, specializing in major donor, corporate, foundation and government grant fundraising.
Lea has eighteen years of experience in the nonprofit sector. During her seven-year tenure at The Wasie Foundation, Lea served as the foundation’s manager and program officer. She evaluated and made recommendations for funding on hundreds of proposals and millions of dollars in funding to nonprofit organizations in the areas of education, health and human service. Lea was the first director of development for Little Hospice (Edina) where she increased major gifts, and corporate and foundation grants by 70%. Lea acted as a grants officer at the College of St. Catherine (St. Paul) during its 80 million dollar capital campaign—securing some of the largest grants the institution had ever received. Lea has served on numerous boards, from grassroots organizations to the largest affordable housing provider in the state. She is actively involved in her neighborhood association, where she has served as board president. Lea earned her bachelor of arts degree from the College of St. Catherine in communications and English.
Today, Lea works as a consultant with nonprofit organizations to build their grant fundraising program. She also develops and writes capital campaign materials and individual donor solicitations.
